The educational goal of the Colon and Rectal Surgery Residency program is to provide broad and structured curriculum in the field of colon and rectal surgery.
Specialized knowledge and techniques used in the field of colon and rectal surgery are taught and experienced firsthand during this fellowship. Additional knowledge and skills beyond those learned in the general surgery residency are expected to be learned by the resident. The objective is to produce a board certified Colon and Rectal Surgeon.
The colon and rectal surgery staff are committed to the education of our residents. It is our expectation that the resident, upon graduation from this residency, will have gained specialized knowledge and clinical expertise in the diagnosis and management (preoperative, operative, post operative, and medical management) of disease and their complications pertaining to the colon, rectum, anus, and small bowel.
